Light

Boston ferns thrive in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, especially during the harsh afternoon hours, as it can scorch their delicate fronds. An east-facing window or a spot near a north or west-facing window with a sheer curtain is ideal. They can also grow outdoors in a partially shaded location.

Watering

These ferns prefer consistently moist soil, like a wrung-out sponge. Water thoroughly when the top inch of the soil feels slightly dry to the touch. Ensure your pot has drainage holes to prevent the soil from becoming waterlogged, which can lead to root rot. You may need to water more frequently during warmer months. Reduce watering slightly in the winter when the plant's growth slows down. Using lukewarm, lime-free water is best.

Humidity

Boston ferns are native to humid environments and thrive in high humidity. Aim for humidity levels above 60%. You can increase humidity by:

• Misting the fronds regularly with room-temperature, lime-free water.
