Philodendron Silver Sword is a striking and fast-growing aroid admired for its long, narrow, sword-shaped leaves with a metallic silver-blue sheen. As the plant matures, the foliage becomes larger and more elongated, giving it a bold, architectural look that stands out in any indoor plant collection.
It starts as a compact plant but naturally wants to climb—when trained on a moss pole, it produces bigger, more dramatic leaves and a stronger silver tone.
Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. It tolerates medium light but grows slower and may lose some silver tone. Avoid harsh direct sun.
Water:
Water when the top 30–40% of the soil feels dry. Overwatering can cause root rot.
Humidity:
Prefers medium to high humidity, but adapts well to normal indoor conditions.
Soil:
Use a well-draining aroid mix (coco chips or peat, orchid bark, perlite).
Temperature:
Thrives between 18–30°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.
Support:
Highly recommended to grow on a moss pole or support for faster growth and larger leaves.
Fertilizer:
Feed once a month during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer (diluted).
Growth Habit:
Climbing / upright
Maintenance:
Low. Occasional pruning helps maintain shape.
