Alocasia Longiloba grandis

The 'original' Alocasia longiloba and Alocasia longiloba 'Grandis' are very different from one another. The blade margins and veins of its leaves are silvery-white, and they are substantially rounder and dark green in colour. The leaves' undersides are an eggplant purple colour.

For the lovely, big leaves, it prefers a place that is between 60 and 80 percent shaded. Alocasias need constant warmth and moisture. Rich but well-drained soil is ideal, and the plant prefers frequent (daily) watering, especially as it becomes bigger. However, keep in mind that when the plant is young and little, too much water (especially if the weather is cold) will cause the tuber to rot.
