Calathea roseopicta Dottie

A Calathea variant that is darker. The Calathea roseopicta Dottie provides a lovely contrast to the more vegetative forms. The pink border and pink stroke in the centre of the deep green burgundy leaves are hashed. Its tropical origins are evident from the dramatic deep red-purple colour of the undersides. Calathea require a lot of soft light. The leaves will fade and lose their marks in direct sunshine. They can take some shade, but the finer the leaf, the more indirect the light.
