The Epipremnum pinnatum 'Marble' (affectionately known as the 'Marble King') is a highly sought-after, premium variant of the classic Dragon Tail plant. It sets itself apart with elongated, sleek, lanceolate foliage heavily painted in an intricate matrix of creamy-white, pale mint, and rich forest green. It frequently produces striking "half-moon" variegation patterns where an entire half of a leaf emerges pure white.
As a true climber, providing this plant with a structural totem or moss pole unlocks its spectacular mature form: the leaves rapidly downsize their petioles, expand in size, and form elegant, natural fenestrations (slits and holes) that mimic wild tropical split-leaf canopies.
Essential Care
Light: Requires plenty of bright, indirect sunlight to maintain its complex, snowy marbling. Insufficient light will cause new leaves to revert to a solid, less-variegated green. Protect completely from harsh, direct midday sun to prevent the white variegation from crisping or scorching.
Watering: Water moderately. Allow the top 2–3 inches of the potting medium to dry out completely before saturating the soil thoroughly. It is highly resilient and much prefers being slightly underwatered rather than staying in waterlogged, stagnant soil.
Soil & Feeding: Thrives best in an exceptionally coarse, airy aroid mix. A blend utilizing coconut coir, perlite, charcoal chips, and chunky orchid bark provides the perfect root aeration. Feed monthly during active growing periods with a diluted organic liquid fertilizer or fish emulsion.
Humidity & Temp: Enjoys warm, humid conditions (50% humidity or higher) which accelerates its climbing speed and leaf scaling. Protect from cold air drafts or direct air conditioning vents. Ideal temperature range is 18°C to 28°C.
