The Maranta 'Amagris' (a stunning silver-grey prayer plant) thrives in medium to bright indirect light, consistently moist soil that never fully dries out, high humidity (60–80%), and warm temperatures between 65°F and 85°F. Use filtered or distilled water, as they are sensitive to tap water chemicals.

Light.

Bright indirect light is ideal. Place it near an east- or north-facing window, or a few feet back from a sunny window.Direct sunlight will scorch and bleach the delicate silver leaves, causing brown, crispy patches.Low light causes the plant to lose its vibrant contrast, grow leggy, and stop its daily leaf-folding movement.

Water.

Even moisture is vital. Water thoroughly when the top 1 to 2 inches of soil feel dry.Never let it dry out completely, or the leaves will curl and develop brown, crispy tips.Avoid overwatering, which rapidly causes stem mushiness and root rot.Use filtered, distilled, or rainwater if possible, because tap water minerals and fluoride cause leaf edge burn.

Soil and Potting.

Well-draining mix is a must. Combine standard potting soil with perlite and orchid bark to ensure proper aeration and prevent compaction.Pot selection requires a container with drainage holes just slightly larger than the root ball.

Temperature and Humidity.
High humidity (above 60%) keeps the foliage pristine. Group it with other plants, use a room humidifier, or place it on a water-filled pebble tray.Warm temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C–30°C) suit it best. Keep the plant safely away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and sudden temperature drops below 60°F
