The Monstera deliciosa 'White Monster' is a highly sought-after, rare cultivar of the Swiss cheese plant known for its striking, high-contrast white and cream variegation. Originally developed by breeder Kunzo, it features large, deeply fenestrated leaves with unstable, chimeric variegation ranging from delicate marbling to bold, half-moon patterns.

Care Requirements

Because the white patches lack chlorophyll, the plant requires a bit of extra attention to thrive:

Light: Provide plenty of bright, indirect light. Avoid direct afternoon sunlight, which can easily scorch the delicate white sections.
Watering: Water when the top 50–75% of the soil feels dry. They are highly susceptible to root rot, so a chunky, well-draining aroid mix is mandatory.
Humidity: Thrives in 60–80% humidity. A humidifier or pebble tray is highly recommended if your indoor air is dry.
Support: Monsteras are climbers. Providing a moss pole or coir totem mimics their natural habitat and encourages the growth of larger, more mature leaves with beautiful splits.
Growth & Reversion: They are generally slower growers than all-green monsteras. If the plant pushes out several plain green leaves, pruning back to the last variegated node can stimulate variegated growth
