The Philodendron martianum 'Fat Boy' is a unique, rare, and easy-to-care houseplant known for its distinguishing thick, swollen petioles and glossy, dark green leaves. It grows in an upright, bushy form rather than a climber and is native to the rainforest regions of Brazil. Key Characteristics Petioles: The most notable feature, giving the plant its "Fat Boy" nickname, are the thick, fleshy, rubbery petioles (leaf stalks) that look like little green sausages. Leaves: It has glossy, dark green, leathery leaves that are typically oval to oblong. The foliage is produced in a captivating rosette arrangement. Growth Habit: Unlike many philodendrons, it is a self-header (non-vining) and grows in a compact, bushy form, reaching a height of 2–3 feet indoors.
